Today, both Architects and Interior Designers have become increasingly aware of the importance of lighting within an interior or exterior space and that lighting is a fundamental factor in the success of a project.

Traditionally lighting design would have been carried out by the Architect , Interior Designer or the Electrical Engineer. The lighting industry over the last ten years has evolved rapidly with new techniques & technology enabling the designer to create interior and exterior lighting installations which could never have been realised previously.

The lighting designer adds the finishing touches and tweaks the buildings environment through the creative use of light by ultimately enhancing or complementing the buildings envelope or interior.

Chimera's early involvement at the beginning of the project and continued collaboration throughout all stages of the design and construction process ensures a seamless integration of the lighting solution to each project we undertake.

ABOUT CHIMERA

Chimera is an established independent Irish lighting design consultancy offering professional, impartial and specialist advice. We have gained our experience through working in lighting design consultancies in London, namely Isometrix, Lighting Design International, Indigo Light Planning and Into Lighting. Our knowledge and academic qualifications include MSc. in Architecture - Light and Lighting, a Building Services Degree and a Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

As consultants we work on a variety of projects ranging from large and small private residencies and gardens, to large-scale commercial developments, hotels, museums, galleries, external floodlighting and landscape lighting.
